INNOVATIVE & ACCESSIBLE

Educational Film Programs

Year-round programming.

At JHIFF, we believe in building a community bound by shared experiences and a love for the cinematic arts.

Our dedication extends beyond the festival itself, with year-round programming designed to entertain, engage, and educate our community. JHIFF leverages its platform to deliver comprehensive educational programs designed to empower aspiring filmmakers and film enthusiasts. This includes a comprehensive curriculum of courses, special events, and interactive platforms such as children's film camps, discussions, workshops, and filmmaker labs.

  • Summer Children's Film Camps

Lights, camera, action! Future filmmakers will make a short film from start to finish. All aspects of production will be covered as campers rotate through the major roles: scripting, acting, directing, shooting and editing.

    Ages 8-15

  • Student Workshops

Technical workshops with Jackson Hole High School Media Arts/Computer Science students. Students talk shop with film industry professionals while they practice and learn technical filmmaking tips. Guest speakers cover everything from gimbal tips, camera settings, to editing tips. These hands-on sessions allow students to incorporate new techniques into their current tv/video projects and learn more about the filmmaking industry.

  • Mentorship Program

Mentorship Program with the Jackson Hole RoboBroncs Media Team & Wonder Institute. The JH RoboBroncs will be making short film projects and highlight reels for their tournament events.

  • Screenwriters Lab

Screenwriter workshops will mentor emerging screenwriters with industry leaders by pairing selected fellows with one-on-one mentorship. Over the course of a weekend, these film industry veterans advise participating fellows on their feature film scripts in a series of individual and group development sessions.

EDUCATIONAL & COMMUNITY INITIATIVES

Our educational programming and community partnerships will bring world-renowned films, media education, and filmmaking opportunities to the local community. JHIFF will enhance the curriculum for existing high school academic programs with professional filmmakers and technical workshops. Compelling storytelling and film set children up for success by improving critical thinking skills and seeing life from a different perspective.
