Frank’s Fall Film Festival Returns to Jackson This Weekend
Jackson’s film scene is buzzing as Frank’s Fall Film Festival returns this weekend, continuing a cherished tradition in our community. First established in 1990 as a fall highlight for Jackson’s arts scene at the Twin Cinema, the festival continues in 2025 at The Center for the Arts, honoring the memory of film pioneer Frank Londy (1946–2021).
Frank Londy, whose vision and passion helped shape Jackson’s cinema culture, once reflected on the power of movies: they are more than entertainment, they’re a “treasury of our past, a window on our present, and a glimpse into our future,” capturing the human experience and transporting audiences to other worlds, real and imagined.
For the Jackson Hole International Film Festival (JHiFF), Frank’s serves as the perfect pre-roll. “Of course I'm going,” says Christy, JHiFF’s Executive Director. “Franks is a North Star for JHiFF. You can't be relevant in a community without honoring its history, and I love running into so many old locals!”
As the opening event of the season, Frank’s sets the tone for JHiFF, celebrating Jackson’s cinematic heritage and inspiring filmmakers and audiences alike.
Whether you’re a longtime festival-goer or a newcomer, this weekend is the perfect opportunity to celebrate Jackson’s cinematic legacy and experience the magic of storytelling in the Tetons.
